Thanksgiving is just around the corner (November 26 to be exact), which means a lot of time with family and food. A promoter of sustainable practices and eco-conscious, we always try our best to find new ways to bring these habits in our lives every day, and holidays are no exception.
And debt - - If you are interested in adding some touch of green to your home or just looking for some advice on how to help you, for sustainable planning are Thanksgiving, we have what you need.
- Adopt-A-Turkey - Whether you have turkey for Thanksgiving, we recommend that you look through the Adopt-A-Turkey program of your city. Many turkeys and other animals rescued managed dehumanizing conditions pitch or businesses through this program and your support is greatly appreciated.
- Eat Local - No matter how you cook for Thanksgiving, visit your local farmer's market and see how much of your food that you can buy. Using seasonal items produced locally, Turkey and other items is a great way to be sustainable over the holidays.
- Clean your plate - disturbingly, the US average wasted $ 600 food every year. So instead of throwing all those Thanksgiving leftovers in the trash, try composting. Composting is super easy and creates all sorts of great and useful organic materials that come your garden thrive help spring.
