Most people avoid cleaning because of fatigue. Whether it's scrubbing surfaces or washing dishes, cleaning is a breeze. It gets worse when you have to go the extra mile to get rid of built-up dirt, especially dishes in the sink. Over time, shelves of cleaning products have appeared on the market that promise to make things easier. However, the cleanup could be made easier with a few DIY tips.

Tainted microwave

If you use a microwave, food particles will stick to the sides. To clean this up, put a bowl of squeezed lemon water in the microwave for five minutes and watch the steam release the stuck food. Instead of scrubbing the inside of your microwave, clean up loose dirt.

Water stains on glasses

Vinegar is one of the most common spot cleaners. If there are water stains on glasses, mix equal amounts of vinegar and water, apply to water stains and leave to rest for about 20 minutes. Then use a toothbrush to remove the foam and rinse off.

Stained faucets and faucets

The water points are a nuisance in the taps. Trying to rub them will only damage the surface of your faucets. Instead, rub them with vinegar.

Clean a blender

Once you've finished juicing or mashing your vegetables, it's important to clean your blender. This can be done quickly by adding warm water to the blender, adding baking soda, and cleaning soap before mixing and rinsing with water for a while.

Striped plates

When cleaning utensils, you run the risk of scratching the dishes with a fork or knife in one place. To "loosen" these marks, mix water and baking soda, apply and rub on the scratched areas. Then rinse them out.

Kitchen sponge

A kitchen sponge is used regularly to clean utensils and countertops. In 2017, a study published in the Scientific Report showed that using a kitchen sponge can spread microbacteria in your home. To avoid this, place a kitchen sponge in the microwave over full heat for 90 seconds to reduce the bacteria count.

Bathroom tiles

The spaces between the tiles in your bathroom will get darker over time as they cannot be reached during the normal cleaning process. Use water, baking soda, and an old toothbrush to clean them.

Clean windows and mirrors

Cleaning windows and mirrors can be a chore at times. A piece of old newspaper will do: squeeze it, spray some soap and polish your glass.

Wooden cutting board

For those who use a wooden board to chop their vegetables, cleaning can sometimes be difficult compared to a plastic board. Rub with lemon and salt to make cleaning easier. Let the mixture sit on the cutting board for a few minutes before rinsing.

Smelly shoes

With some shoes, no amount of cleaning can remove bad odors. Sprinkle some baking soda on the shoes to keep them cool.
