For most of my life, I was a bitch. We're talking huge pile of clothes on the floor, dirty dishes all over the house, dirty bathroom, "What a dust cloth and how are they used?" Levels drooling. I have ADD, and I always found it almost impossible to anything that concentrate long enough to clean, let alone keep a semblance of organization. A few years ago I decided I was tired of my apartment that looks like a frat house, so that I have a commitment to change my behavior. I read this book , which is amazing and highly recommended. I have learned, instead of working with my ADD against them. I have deliberately created a lot of new habits of organization and cleaning systems. Today I feel like a blow ADD. I'm still not a fan of cleaning (dust not my thing), but I almost every day to clean my house, voluntarily and - sigh - I thank you. Here are some things that I learn along the way that might help you:

1 Be realistic. Persons with ADD tend to be dreamers and idealists. Our thoughts are taken up with great ideas and interesting revelations, and, of course, we tend to all that apply, including our recruitment projects. Next time you tackle a project organization, take a page from the are quiet prayer - accept the things I can not change, and act accordingly. No matter how you want to be the kind of person who keeps a book meticulously alphabetical order is probably will not happen. No matter how cool the light of the complex system closet organization on Pinterest, this is probably not a realistic option for you. The key here? Be realistic about the maintenance required at each organizational system, and opt for the easiest. This is the only way that you can keep with him. Believe me, acceptance is the first step to a clean house.

Two. Target organized chaos. A big turning point for me was when I changed my expectations about the organization. As I mentioned, I have super high target perfect organization, and I always forget until I gave up. Now I know I'm fine with a little chaos, as 1) I do not see every day, and 2) there is not yet a general sense of order. Here is an example: I used it to keep all my shirts in a pile on a shelf in the closet. Almost every day, I would try for the battery, the T-shirt I wanted to find, locate, and I have never been cleaned. The plate was a mess, the me every time he stressed saw me made. Finally I pulled my shirts in a drawer. Do you still have messed up almost every day? Yes, but the mess is contained, is not easily visible, and I always knew exactly where all my T-shirts.

March. Things do not "phase." My father has ADD, and my mother so mad at him for "staging" around the house, mainly to get a lot of things that you were intending to do, but I have not had the had the opportunity. It was a transit area for ironing clothes, broken toys that need to be repaired, the e-mail must be sorted, etc. It is a classic ADD behavior, and it is impossible to keep a clean house. Instead of meeting for many things away (yes, even if they are wrinkled or broken!) And make a list of things to do instead. This will allow you to remember tasks to keep a clear head and a clean house.

4 .. Do you have a place for everything - a very special place, easily accessible "A place for everything and everything in its place" is an important opportunity in cleaning / global organization, but for good reason: it works. And I found it even more important for the adder comply with this rule. If something does not have a website, which you can place anywhere. And then there are other things stacked. And you do not know what to do with your battery if you have just moved a little around the house until you go crazy. Do not give any specific place to stop the cycle of madness!

5 .. Do not put anything in its place, a few months ago in Real Simple, I read this trick, and it has totally changed my life: if the house straightened up, everything that is not double touch. What does this mean? Every time you are tempted to put something somewhere and "deal with it later", to force everything returned back to where it goes into place. It will usually only take a few seconds longer to now, instead of doing away. This is a habit once it is ingrained in your routine a game changer.

6 multitasking Use your powers for good. If you do the kind of person who lives several things at once (lots of extensions), this setting work in your cleaning routine. Swing the kitchen while talking to his sister on the phone and make dinner. Scrub the tub, while the deep conditioner to soak in. Straighten coffee table while watching a movie and give a manicure.

7 Cleaning Ignore out never a crazy mood., If you feel the urge to clean, drop everything and do it. Cleaning if you're in the mood hyperfocus to be focused on the task and get the fuck out, even if you from the ground up lust. Repeat after me: A cleaning rampage 3 hours to a sparkling clean house is better than no cleaning at all clutter.

8 Consider the organization in systems. Are you the type of person who likes to rebel against the existing systems? Many people are ADD. Use this to your advantage frustrating series when deciding how to organize your space. Here's how: find a way to organize online (just google "How to Organize Books / bathroom / kitchen / whatever") and confirm exactly as described. Try for a week. Do not wear when out of service. Instead, identify all its weaknesses and the parts that do not work for you, then use this knowledge to transform them into a new system that makes. Tap into your creativity to find an individual solution, which is much better than the original. I know you can.

9 Make Whatever struggling with ADD a timer. Brains? Time management. For many snakes that time has lived a much more elastic than the neuro-typical person shape. Depending on what we do and how we are focused to 10 minutes such as 3:00 or 5:00 can feel to overshadow a glance. I have a theory, which is why many of us have an aversion to cleaning. This is not a fun task, it's hard to stay focused and easily distracted, which means that either we always seem to cleaning (yuck) or forget the time without achieving much. Therefore, you should have a possibility to find playing time into manageable pieces, and a timer is a good way to do it. Ask (I like to set a timer for 15 minutes to use a timer so that you can see over time, but a timer or kitchen timer phone is also pretty good!) and force you to work for long hold. You will be surprised how much you can do when you can really focus, you might be tempted to set the clock and to be with something else. After resetting the timer a few times, the whole house will be clean.

. . At least 10 crazy things artist in me has always been spaces that are taken cluttered and visually exciting, have been drawn - shelves full of original collections, coffee tables with jewelry and stacked magazines filled cabinets with colorful clothes, etc, but when I more than I've realized that I do not store them in a position to organize a lot of things. Not in my abilities. If I have a lot of things, it is very chaotic and disorganized, which makes me feel stressed and overwhelmed instead of inspiration. Less stuff is easier to clean and organized, to hold. If you're younger, you're setting yourself up to the success of the organization, and that's really the point.
