The walls are dirty, before you know it - a splatter spaghetti meal on the art of pencil drawing of a little boy roaming fingers simply reach a light switch.
It is easy to pass through walls and furniture every day without a second look, but the time of spring cleaning is the perfect time attention to them which they deserve.
Like many of the cleaning can prevent the regular cleaning that more work later cleaning.
"It need not be as difficult a job as it seems," said Amy Panos, Director of the Better Homes and Gardens. "The easier you can make yourself, the more likely you are to do."
Dirt and scratches
The walls are to be dirty in the rule and light around the door handles switches.
"Even if a hand is clean, it still has some dirt and oils build up over time and eventually lead to the dirty area" Wall said Panos.
The walls also get tagged accidental splashes or bag near baseboards. Parents know how the hands of young children are often on the walls, or with dirty fingers or with crayons or markers found.
These fingerprints and other stains can best be treated immediately. "The sooner you get a brand that is perceptible, the easier it will" clean, said Sharon Grech, color and design expert from Benjamin Moore.
People washing or cleaning of painted surfaces resist because they fear the process of removing the paint. But Grech said the technology has improved in the last ten years, and the images are now stain resistant and durable for cleaning.
However, it is important to use the right products.
To remove marks daily Grech suggested using a clean cellulose sponge with a little warm water.
"I'll give you just a massage," he said. "Wait till it dry and see if it is clean."
If the dirt still evident, repeat the process with a little detergent and wipe the surface with a clean towel sponge, cloth or paper.
"The warm water works wonders with a sponge," Grech said. "You want to avoid using common household cleaners containing ammonia and other products to have" because they change the brightness of the image.
Panos as ease of a block of foam rubber, is as Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, read in an inconspicuous area to test to make sure it will not remove the color or finish. Mr. Clean Magic Eraser is approved by the manufacturer for use on most paints, including flat and semi-gloss paint.
"It's absolutely incredible," Panos said. "They take care of many things."
Do not forget the doors and trim, often scantily clad, to clean the paint, but bright colors like white and cream are the visible. The cleaning of these areas can immediately make the room brighter.
"It really seems," Grech said. 'It is as if one. On a beautiful lip gloss'
Dust and cobwebs
While most people know to take an ugly mark, most overlook the cleaning of the entire wall, Panos said. Once you have a new coat of paint, lightly shake the walls every three months.
"You do not have to wash a bucket and a sponge and soap, and the walls," he said. "Easy to pull himself a tool with an extension so that you can stand on the floor, and take on the task in minutes instead of a ladder."
Clean the roof for the first time with a mop microfiber lever extension flat roofs, damp or rolling paint on the pole for a popcorn ceiling, said. The walls can be from top to bottom mop cleaning (wet or dry), and cleaned baseboards hand with a microfiber cloth.
"Keep the environment without the powder is as far as possible for good indoor air quality," Panos said.
Grech recommends regular cleaning, where dust accumulates, such as skirting boards and window frames that you can mix with moisture and become a disaster.
Thoroughly clean not to renew the paint the walls, he said, will help keep them looking their best.
"You want to get the areas that abused little to get clean to keep it fresh," she said.
