With just baking soda and vinegar has a stellar "green band" for many cleaning tasks. Whether you tackle a dirty oven or beautifying their accountant, this eco-friendly products are a good alternative to harsh chemicals. We ordered green cleaning expert Leslie Reichert share some of their favorite recipes baking soda and vinegar. You will get the job done, save money and help the environment - all at the same time.
Shutterstock Spot cleaning of carpets
- White vinegar
- Water
Blot spills on the carpet. Spraying the soiled surface with a mixture of equal parts water and vinegar. Dry with a towel. Repeat until stain is gone.
Coffee Machines
- 2 cups vinegar
Vinegar run through the brewing process. Fill the tank with water. Perform new cycle of preparation.
Detergent counter
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup of white vinegar
- 8 drops of lemon essential oil, optional
Mix the ingredients, then sprinkle on the counter. Wipe clean with a microfiber cloth. To improve performance, the mixture in the microwave heated until hot. (Use vinegar closed on sealed granite, marble or other stone countertops.)
Cups and Mugs
Fill with baking soda in part two parts of water. Allowed to stand overnight. In the morning, wipe the stain with a sponge.
Softener
- 3 cups of white vinegar
- ½ cup of water
- ½ cup of baking soda
- 8 drops of your favorite essential oil, optional
Mix the water and vinegar, then the mixture in the microwave for a minute. Solve the baking powder in the mixture. Add the fragrance essential oil if desired. Use in the wash cycle, the trade plasticizer.
Windshield Cleaner
- 1 tbsp white wine vinegar
- 1 liter of water
Mixing and application in the crystal. Wipe clean with a microfiber cloth.
Oven cleaner (not for self-cleaning ovens)
Method 1:
Scrub and the lower side of the oven with baking powder and steel wool.
Method 2:
- 1 cup of baking soda
- 2 cups vinegar
Pour. The vinegar in a spray bottle Baking powder scattering in the bottom of the furnace. Drizzle with vinegar to make a light lather. Keep wet aerosol vinegar baking soda as needed. Sneaker Deodorant
Sneakers Sprinkle baking soda. Allowed to stand overnight. Stir baking powder, before wearing shoes.
Towels
Malodorous cloths are often caused by the accumulation of detergent. Freshen smelly towels with warm water and a cup of vinegar and again in hot water and ½ cup of baking soda. Reichert does not recommend using a detergent during this process. Detergent towel remains even after rinsing and may contain odors.
Not so clean with baking soda and / or vinegar:
- Use of vinegar to be slightly lighter, which is an acid, and in time can eliminate glare.
- Use vinegar closed on counter granite or marble. It will not damage the stone, but slowly removes shine.
- Use baking soda as an abrasive scrub on surfaces scratch easily.
- If in doubt, are the first products on a hidden part of the products tested cleaned.
