After accidental shooting gun owners Hollywood Cop offers safety tips for dealing

Hollywood man who was cleaning his .38 caliber pistol was accidentally shot in the buttocks, police in the city on Monday.

"An adult male in his 20s when he was cleaning his gun and discharged, [the ball] hit him in the butt," said on Monday police lieutenant Alexander Derik Hollywood.

The incident occurred at 4 clock Sunday in the 3300 block of Forrest Drive, Alexander said.

"He knocked on the door of the neighbors, and the Lord called us," Alexander said.

The report about the shooting is not completed on Monday, and police spokesman did not name the injured.

He was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood as a trauma alert patient and his condition was unknown, said Alejandro Monday.

"It can be accused of anything," Alexander said. "He was at home. There was no fraud or suspicious incident."

Alexander said, there are some basic rules you can follow to not wounded by his own weapon.

"In general, all firearms must be treated with caution," Alexander, who said sent the following advice:

• The firearm must be removed before cleaning.
• The magazine should be excluded.
• When a weapon is a weapon, "wheel" of the weapon must be empty shown with all cartridges.
• A semi-automatic weapon, firing the weapon must be cleared manually by pulling the slide back.
• The firearm must be disassembled and cleaned with suitable materials.
