Safety Tips Spring Clean

To keep Saturday, April 19, 2014 (HealthDay News l) - As spring cleaning done, families use a wide range of products, which can cause poisoning, says an expert.

But by taking the proper precautions to reduce the risk of danger, said Earl Siegel, Executive Director of the Hospital of drug information and poison the Cincinnati Children Medical Center in Central Ohio.

"It is important that people armed with the basic information about poison prevention in the home, such as keeping chemicals out of the reach of children and read labels and cans of all products with care," said a press release from the hospital.

Tips to prevent illness during the spring cleaning, offered by the Department of Health and Human Services of the United States.

Keep cleaning products in their original containers or jars. Store in jars, bottles or glasses. Never sniff containers to determine what's inside.

Keep locked up and cleaning products out of the reach and sight of children.

Read the label before using cleaning agents. And never mix products; this could create a dangerous gas.

Open windows and turn on fans in the use of detergents or other chemicals. Also protective clothing - long sleeves, long pants, socks, shoes and gloves - if the pesticides or other chemicals. Stay away again for at least one hour treatment, or until the product areas dried.

If you clean your kit, keep all medicines out of the sight and reach of children while you work.
