2. Analyze your system

Then you can consider and possibly to remove unnecessary files, but some of them are system files (like pagefile.sys) to know that Windows will probably not let you delete and recreate that only if you made (or even worse, do you start your system).
Google filename especially if you are not sure what it is, and want to know if it is safe to remove it.
Be sure to empty the trash after you files you no longer need to delete (right-click on the icon for the Recycle Bin on the desktop and select Empty Trash.
3. Use utilities space programs
There are many useful services that can help tame space. One of my favorites is free TreeSize and shows the size of the directories on your system.
Run the program and click Scan and then select the drive or directory to check (in this example, simply chose C :)

Here we can see the Dropbox folder on my computer to see the greatest amount of personal data, so you can reduce or remove files synchronize folders on them, as needed (I will develop in step 5)
Use CCleaner to clean temporary files and other debris that could lose the room:

4. Use utilities duplicate files

Conclusion: I saw some myths related to the development of computers. Defragmentation will not really recover disk space (or, frankly, what I think is particularly important with modern operating systems today) are open, or close running applications or browser tabs.
