Cleaning, safety and organization experts are joining forces for Baby Safety Month
- The American Cleaning Institute, Safe Kids Worldwide and Horderly present a guide to home safety
- A survey found that nearly a third of Americans have seen insecure storage on social media
Washington, DC, September 12, 2024 – In honor of Baby Safety Month in September, the American Cleaning Institute (ACI), Safe Kids Worldwide and Horderly are collaborating to help parents create safe, baby-friendly spaces in all areas of the home.
ACI packages implemented! The campaign highlights the importance of proper use and storage of laundry products for the safety of families. This is particularly important as many Americans follow the dangerous social media trend of decanting products for cosmetic purposes, inadvertently putting children at risk of accidental exposure. According to a 2024 ACI survey, 36% of Americans believe they can improve their laundry room with decorative pots or containers.
To combat this trend, ACI partnered with Safe Kids Worldwide and Horderly, a professional organizing company, to create a comprehensive home safety guide for parents. The guide gives tips on how to create child-safe spaces in risk areas of the home.
"We are committed to educating parents about the safe and proper use of cleaning products, regardless of where they are stored," said Brian Sansoni, senior vice president of communications and public relations at ACI. "Through Horderly and Safe Kids' experience, we prove that it is possible to keep your storage spaces organized and attractive while prioritizing safety.
Baby Safety Month provides a timely reminder to re-evaluate the safety of the areas around your home, whether reorganizing and reorganizing or preparing for the arrival of a new baby in the home.
"We are pleased to partner with ACI and Horderly to provide expert advice and information to help parents and guardians safely store the household products families rely on every day," said Torine Creppy, President of Safe Kids Worldwide .
"We want parents to understand that being organized isn't just about looks," adds Jamie Hord, co-founder of Horderly. "Properly organizing high-risk areas in the home ensures parents can rest easy knowing their little ones are protected."

About the survey
The American Cleaning Institute survey was conducted by Wakefield Research ( www.wakefieldresearch.com ) between February 12 and 19, 2024, via email invitation and an online survey of 1,000 nationally representative U.S. adults ages 18 and older. Data was weighted to ensure an accurate representation of American adults ages 18 and older.
The results of each sample are subject to sampling fluctuations. The degree of variation is measurable and depends on the number of interviews and the level of percentages expressing the results. In the interviews conducted as part of this particular study, there is a 95 out of 100 probability that the result of a survey will not differ by more or less than 3.1 percentage points from the result that would have been obtained had the interviews been conducted carried out with everyone in the region. Universe represented by the sample.
