We are a country of dog lovers, but it's an undeniable truth: our furry friends can play table tennis.
While it's important to note that particularly strong odors can be a sign of your dog's health problems, such as skin diseases or oral problems, even the healthiest dogs give off an odor that can make us grimace.
Dogs (and actually all mammals) have their own scents that allow them to be easily recognized among other animals. So it's not because your dog stinks, but because its natural smell is not very pleasant to our nose.
And even if your dog's smell is just part of his genetics, that doesn't mean you want your whole house to smell like dog. Luckily, you don't have to put up with the smell, as cleaning fanatics have shared some tips to help you remove that distinctive "dog smell" from your furniture.

These helpful tips appeared on Reddit when a potential puppy parent asked for advice on how to keep the "distinct doggy smell" and shedding in his living area at bay. They said: "I'm particularly concerned about the smell and minimizing the amount of hair on carpets and furniture."
Dog lovers were quick to offer an important tip in the comments: Avoid fabric sofas. Instead, they encouraged pet owners to choose leather furniture, which is easier to clean and hair-free.
In addition to replacing the fabric sofa, some have also suggested that it might be beneficial to remove any carpeting. Parquet floors are easier to care for and absorb odors less well. You can then add rugs to create a cozy atmosphere, which are much easier to clean than carpets.
One person said: "I have a friend who has two big dogs and she asked me what her house smelled like and if I could smell the dogs... Honestly I couldn't smell them. It also has washable carpets and leather furniture. "It has like hardwood floors." I don't think the smell clings to anything.
Another added: "We have two cats and these are the things that have made my house easy to maintain. No carpets, covers for our furniture, we try to make things from materials that repel cat hair and an air purifier. We lived in it." a "The house had carpet and it was very difficult to keep it clean. "I will never have a carpet again."
Other suggestions included investing in air purifiers to purify the air in your home, as well as a vacuum cleaner proven to work on pet hair, and removable and washable furniture covers.
And of course, many have pointed out the importance of bathing your dog regularly.
One person advised: "Wash your dog regularly. Not everyone bathes their dog frequently around the house, but I think cleaning the dog is the most important thing.
