Tips to a stubborn drain unclog

Share »

Question: I read your article on slow drainage wells and fixing or cleaning the cork pop. My sink is not fast at all drainage. I checked the plug but clear. What can I do? - Jae C., by e-mail

A: In your case, there may be a blockage in the further course than in the vicinity of the P-trap. This is the great bend in the line just under the sink. (It looks like a J or P on the side, hence the name).

Clogs of lather and hair often accumulate at the bottom of this change. It often happens that many P-trap now have a large cap at the bottom of access and clean the area.

To disable it, you need a wrench or hose locking the wheels /, a cube, a plumbing snake (also known as hand drill) and rags. Ask directly the bucket under the trap.

If you have a cleaning cover, wrap a rag and use it to solve the wrench and unscrew by hand. You are gushing into the bucket, so be prepared Agua. Clean the P-trap with a small wire brush or a modified suspension to reach out and grab the shoe or gastric tube snake in a few inches at a time and turn to grip and move on to the shoes.

If you do not have a lid, the cleaning of the trap itself can be removed by loosening the nuts bent at each end of the tube by hand. If they are too tight, wrap a rag around every mother before, so you do not scratch with a socket wrench or a key lock or tighten nuts. Loosen and unscrew by hand so that it slightly downwards until it releases from the case. (The video shows how GEO HowTo: http://bit.ly/1EGu5cN )

Clean the trap itself, and check the exhaust pipe, clogged the sink, and feeding the pipe wall. See password obstacles.

Now pull the trap in place and hand-tighten the nuts. Do not over tighten. To test the waterproofing drainage function and pull slowly until the leak stopped. If the leak persists, replace the seals on each nut.

TIP: If your sink and tub drains clogged with hair frequently, buy traps daily and clean economic network in order to minimize the problem.
