MO tested: Muc-Off Pressure Washer

As motorcyclists, we all heard that using high-pressure cleaners in our bicycles was not a real thing. Pressure can force water through O-rings and gaskets, which can lead to corrosion and premature wear. To test the effectiveness of the Muc-Off high-pressure washer, I had my 790 Duke soiled by insect impacts and even by tree sap drops (which had resisted other sprinklers). I wet the bike with the mouthpiece and let it rest for a few minutes. Then I applied a thick layer of muc-off foam. One caveat: The foam dispenser is very thirsty, unless it is set to the lowest level. I used more than a third of a bottle in a wash before I saw how fast the cleaner disappeared. Again, I let the bike rest for a few minutes to allow the cleaner to do his job. Then I cleaned the bike with a soft glove. After that I washed the cleaner and dirt. Without much attention, the sap of the trees in the tanks had disappeared. In the lighthouse almost all embedded insects had dissolved. Additional seconds to clean these unruly insects were all that was needed in the lighthouse. On the back of the bike, only a few traces of stubborn chain lubricant needed a moment's attention. After soaking for a few minutes, I washed the bike with a soft glove before rinsing it off. Almost all of the accumulated dirt was gone, even the fine sap of the trees that had survived another cleaner.
