Tips to keep your CPAP machines clean

Clean your CPAP equipment

For the best therapeutic results, it is important that you keep your equipment in top condition. Regular cleaning and changing of filters, masks, full face pads and tubes is essential. Please read the following care tips and contact us if you have any questions or are not sure.

Mask and headband

At least twice a week, ideally every morning, the mask can be fitted with a headband, hose and washed hands.

Quickly but thoroughly wash the mask and headband with hot soapy water and rinse well under warm running water, squeezing out any excess water and hanging to dry overnight.

Cleaning recommendations for the ventilation pipe.

Clean the flexible hose once a week. To do this, remove the hose from the device and wash it carefully in a warm water solution with a mild detergent additive. Rinse well and hang up to dry, preferably vertically.

We recommend disinfection at regular intervals. To do this, the hose can be inserted into a solution of 1 part vinegar and 3 parts water for about 20 minutes. Then rinse well.

Cleaning recommendations for humidifiers

To avoid calcification as much as possible, you should use soft water. EC boiled, table water or distilled.

The water tank is not dishwasher safe and must therefore be cleaned by hand with a mild detergent solution. Allow to air dry.

For regular disinfection, the container can also be placed in a solution of one part vinegar and three parts water. Rinse well.

Fill the container to the indicated level indicator.
