Have you ever caught a "life hack" from an online video that was saving you time? Today might be a good day to start with, as a new study suggests that these little tips and tricks can save people nearly four hours of work every week.
That's according to a survey of 2,002 Americans, 41% of whom identified life hacks as helpful efficiency cuts.
In fact, a quarter of those who know the hacks in life say they have six hours a week after using the shortcuts.
The survey, conducted by OnePoll on behalf of Minute Rice , also found that the most popular lifestyle tips were those that focus on cooking or cooking, with 54% saying they use them regularly.
Top-rated cooking tips included preparing meals throughout the week (41%), cooking potatoes with their skin on for easier removal (40%), and using microwave rice (39%).
Six out of ten respondents say they watch life hacking videos online, and 42% of people say they have shared their own life hacking tips online at some point.
Like all skills, some life hacks require practice; Respondents indicated that it takes an average of three attempts to complete a life hack.
33% learned makeup tips, 33% organized their kitchen better, and another third found tips to make gardening more enjoyable.
"Everything that gives us time in our day, from cooking tips to tips for starting school, should be accepted. Because if we save time on daily tasks, we can slow down time and enjoy time with those who matter most to us, "said Erica Larson, Senior Brand Manager at Minute Rice.
