YOUR cutting boards are not as clean as you think.
A home hacking expert shared a video showing the extra step you need to take to ensure all dirt and grime is removed from your wooden boards.
The expert, known as @tanyahomeinspo on social media, started her trick by placing two wooden cutting boards on an aluminum tray.
Then he poured boiling water over the planks and filled the pan to cover them.
After that, he added a tablespoon of washing-up liquid to the tray to disinfect the boards.
Using a fork, he moved the boards around and made sure they were thoroughly soaked in hot, soapy water for at least an hour.
In the video you can see how the tint darkens a bit in the water after an hour and there are tons of dirt particles floating around in the pan.
Many viewers loved the hack, with one person saying, "Great video, if you don't clean it properly there is so much dirt and debris most people don't.

And if your cutting boards are plastic instead of wood, there's a way to clean them too.
Hacking guru Armen Adamjan has revealed that rubbing it in with soap and water won't get you anywhere.
Holding up his dirty plastic cutting board on social media, he said, "If your cutting board looks like this and no matter what you do, the stains just won't come off, here's what to do."
He then sprinkled baking soda on the stain before dousing some hydrogen peroxide on it.
If you don't have hydrogen peroxide, you can use vinegar instead.
This combination created an instant fizz as the two chemicals react when combined.
Then he added sea salt and used half a lemon to grate the three products on the board.
The acid, along with the chemical reaction and sand from the salt, instantly melted the stains away.
After washing with water, the plastic panel looked almost new.
