MIDVALE, Utah, July 23, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) - Midvale officials offer advice to residents after a severe storm hit the area Thursday night.
"Last night, the severe storm hit some parts of the city particularly hard in Midvale and severely damaged trees," said a Facebook publication after the Midvale city government. "Especially the northern border district of Midvale at 7200 South and State Street at 500 East."
Throughout the night, the Midvale Public Works team worked closely with the unified police agency to tackle the fallen trees blocking the streets, the publication said. If you notice fallen trees, contact the Public Works Department at 801-567-7235. Public works offices are closed on Fridays, so press 1 then 0 to access a dispatcher.
"If you live in the worst-hit area, please break the branches off and place them on the strip of your park," the post said. "Our Public Works team will be picking up the branches next week. Please note that our public works team cannot enter private property. Therefore, if necessary, place the branches on the street or sidewalk of your park. "
If you don't live in the hardest hit area, you can take stores to Midvale City Park at 7720 S. Chapel St. and place the stores next to the glass recycling bin in the southeast corner of the parking lot. "Be careful about putting branches in the parking lot and just put them next to the trash," the post said.
In all emergencies, including power outages, call 911 immediately.
