Mayor waives the city's approval fees for the construction of flood-damaged houses in Ida
Although President Biden approved the New York State Major Disaster Declaration and will provide federal restoration funds, Manhattan is only eligible for FEMA's public aid program, which reimburses the local government for damaged infrastructure. Manhattan residents cannot receive individual assistance from FEMA, which reimburses home and business owners directly. (The other counties have been approved for one-on-one assistance.) If you continue to need assistance, please contact my office at 212-669-8300.
