When Jason Dempsey proudly showed off his new dishwasher in a TikTok video , you probably didn't expect it to have some hidden features you didn't know existed.
But since then you have discovered two practical things about your dishwasher that may also be new to you.
Jason first noticed there was a third basket in his dishwasher after a TikTok follower commented on his original post about the dishwasher.

"When I got my new dishwasher, I had no idea the third basket was there for six months," one person said.
Another asked, "Does it have the third shelf? You keep forgetting it!"
In a second dishwasher video , Jason filmed discovering his dishwasher's third rack for the first time. He looks confused and amazed by the practical function.
"What is this magic?" captioned the video.
"What do I put in here? Oh my god," he said in the video.
Some of Jason's followers have suggested using the third holder for utensils, especially the longer pieces.
"We removed the 'standard' cutlery holder to free up space on the bottom shelf and only use the third one for utensils," reads a comment.

The revelation was new to other people, too, and some checked their dishwashers to find they were missing the feature. Based on reviews, it seems that the third basket is more common in more expensive dishwashers.
"I feel like I spent more money on the third shelf, not knowing I got the third shelf..." Jason said.
Just when Jason thought he had figured out everything there was to know about his new dishwasher, another comment led him to discover that the center basket was height adjustable and lowerable.
In another TikTok video , Jason demonstrates this feature. Testing the lowering mechanism leaves him practically speechless save for a giggle.
You are not the only one who does not know these functions. In response to his third post on the shelf, one person said, "Okay, but it took me six months to realize that I can raise and lower the height of my mug rack."
