Step 4 - Check the care instructions on the mattress label to make sure you aren't doing anything that could damage it.

Step 5: With your pillows out of the way and your sheets in the washing machine, grab your vacuum. Connect the upholstery attachment to the vacuum cleaner and vacuum both sides of the mattress to remove dust and dirt.

Step 6 - If you need to remove stains, use a clean cloth and your favorite cleaning solution and gently blot (rather than rub or scrub) to remove stains.

Step 7: To neutralize strong odors, sprinkle a thin layer of baking soda on the surface of the mattress. Leave for at least 2 hours.

Step 8: Vacuum the mattress again to remove any remaining baking soda and particles.

Step 9: When you're done cleaning the mattress, pillows, and sheets, make your bed again by placing everything back on top of the mattress.
