Bathrooms are among the most difficult rooms in the house to clean . Despite people's best efforts, they are often susceptible to limescale, mold, hair and bacteria. For those planning a bathroom design soon, Tradebase.com bathroom expert Richard Ghinn has shared the easiest bathroom designs to clean.
According to the bathroom professional, a steel tub is more hygienic, while replacing tile and grout with seamless panels saves homeowners valuable cleaning time.
Richard said: "Like fashion and interior design, bathroom trends can change quickly and it can be easy to get swayed by what looks good online when planning a new bathroom.
"But until these products are installed, it's hard to say what life will be like with them.
"Some of the most popular bathroom products are difficult to clean, and nobody wants to spend more time than necessary keeping a new bathroom in good condition."

The brass also shows significantly fewer fingerprints and limescale stains.
The bathroom expert shared his top tips for keeping brass fixtures shiny.
He said: "An easy way to keep bronze shiny is to spritz a little olive oil on a rag and just wipe it under the faucet or showerhead.
"Stops tarnishing and makes brass shine and less likely to show water stains."
Rust-resistant steel bath
Freestanding bathtubs are very popular, but due to their size, they are often placed close to a wall, creating a difficult-to-clean area.
To achieve the "freestanding look" it may be better to opt for a freestanding bathtub that is attached to the wall.
Richard said: "This is a stylish option that also works well with wall mounted bathroom fixtures which in turn makes cleaning easier.
"If you're looking for a more traditional look, a stainless steel tub offers many cleaning benefits.
"It's naturally non-porous, so germs don't stick to it, and it's resistant to UV rays, limescale and mold. One advantage is that it keeps the bath water nice and warm for longer.
Built-in shower sets
Shampoo, soap, and other bath products can cause mold to form in some areas of the shower.
Lime scale can also stick to showerheads and adjacent areas.
To keep this from happening, homeowners should design a simple shower.
Bathroom experts said: "Most family bathrooms have a shower over the bath and our best advice is to opt for a concealed shower set, meaning only the dials and showerhead are exposed.
"This makes cleaning much easier, especially in combination with the seamless wall panels."
Rimless toilet
Richard said that one of the "most misleading" products marketed as "easier to clean" is wall-hung toilets.
These actually have gaps between the toilet and the floor, meaning they are more difficult to clean.
He continued, "A no-fuss alternative is a wall-hung toilet with a 'rimless' design.
"This design is one of the latest and most significant functional upgrades for humble restrooms in recent years.
"Although they look exactly like a standard toilet from the outside, when you lift the seat you won't find a 'rim' in the toilet.
"No edge = no hiding place for germs! It's so much faster and easier to clean.
"We tried many of these designs in different shapes and the round rimless toilet passed our splash test compared to the square shape, which had water leaking out as it flushed around the bowl."
