Superior organizes annual rainwater purification trainings

The training took place in the Superior Estuary.

SUPERIOR, Wis. - Experts from the city of Superior say that rainwater is the largest pollutant in the Upper Lake.

Contractors and consultants planning and implementing new projects in the city participated in annual rainwater purification training.

The training provides tips and techniques for dealing with rainwater contamination that could leave construction sites if they are not handled properly.

"We will see what was done on the previous sites, what works well, what did not work well and we are looking for new technological standards for rainwater management," said Andrea Crouse, Resource Specialist. in water

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has also been trained to analyze what they are looking for on construction sites and the state is also actively involved in the training.

"They also get the latest information from the state about new ways they can manage rainwater on their property," said Crouse. "If there are easier ways to implement the best management practices, we will make that available to you."
