Bhubaneswar: The opportunity for cleaners (safai karmachari) of Bhubaneswar Municipal Society (BMC) was different. While cleansing the city and keeping the urban environment in order, the Akanksha members and Infosys CSR Wing Ecology Associations reported on how to maintain personal safety and hygiene. ,
Yes! The special program was organized by Infosys volunteers to clean up the Infocity area and surrounding area with BMC staff and educate workers about personal care.
The aim of this campaign was to make the BMC employees aware of hygiene. BMC employees do everything they can to keep the city clean, but they never pay attention to their own hygiene, which can cause serious health problems. That's why Infosys' CSR team trained their staff to maintain basic hygiene, such as the use of a nasal mask and gloves during cleaning. They were also trained in the use and importance of hand washing and hand sanitizer according to their daily activities.
The Infosys volunteers distributed 51 cleaning kits, including a rain jacket, gloves, masks, and cleaning wipes, to the BMC cleaning staff in recognition of their excellent work. The volunteers distributed food packages to the workers.
Infoscions also informed employees about daily hygiene and safety measures. The workers were satisfied with the kits and also agreed to use safety and hygiene tips.
County Council Pritinanada Routray of District 6 also attended the event to motivate the BMC cleaning staff. He also thanked Infosy's CSR for leading this activity, which had never happened before. He shared the feeling that this gesture would certainly inspire others to speak up and educate the cleaners who form the backbone of the temple city's cleansing.
"We must acknowledge the work and the basis of the commitment of the workers who support the city and its own environment." The initiative is voluntary. Infosys should inspire other industrial companies and companies to develop other innovative activities "Routray.
