I use a lemon
To remove odors and dry spots, add lemon wedges or several tablespoons of vinegar to a bowl of cold water. Make sure the bowl is not more than half full. Heat at high temperature until the water boils and the windows fill with smoke.

2 Cool it down
Let your cleaning solution cool down for 15 minutes before opening the door. Clean with paper towels. Also clean the dials and knobs, as well as the top of the microwave if it is exposed.
