CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - The city's waste management agency wants to remind everyone that the holidays are a great time to recycle and CLEAN. Here are some tips to help you do this.
Recyclable items (belong to the blue shopping carts)
- Cardboard boxes. Remember to flatten it before putting it in your recycling basket!
- Seasonal mail, vacation catalogs, magazines and newspapers.
- Empty, clean, and dry tin and aluminum cans.
- Plastic bottles with no lids or stoppers.
Drop off at JC Elliott Transfer Station (Hwy 286 to Ayers Street)
- Boil peanut oil or fat.
- Motor oil, pesticides, paints and detergents.
- Lithium batteries
- Glass bottles or containers.
- Computer, printer or scanner.
- Living Christmas trees.
Non-recyclable items (belong to green shopping carts)
- Disposable batteries C, D and AA.
- Christmas ribbons, bows, garlands, colored lights and decorations.
- Styrofoam, bubble wrap and padded envelopes.
- Gift boxes, wrapping paper and greeting cards with glitter or foil.
- Wreaths or garlands.
