Condensation often occurs on windows in winter when the weather gets colder.
As soon as the interior heating is switched on, drops appear, because when the water in the warm air hits a cold window, it becomes liquid.
Although it often goes away on its own, if too much water builds up, it can lead to dangerous mold in homes.
A woman who was faced with the problem, turned to the Facebook group "Cleaning Tips" by Mrs. Hinch to obtain advice to correct the problem, the Spiegel reported.
Cleaning enthusiasts in the group were quick to help and offer him a popular solution that costs less than $ 1.
The woman, whose name is Sophie, wrote: "I have just moved into a rented apartment and every day the windows have condensation like this spotless. I tried the little pots (humidifiers) to help but there is no difference.
"A tip on how to stop this would be great! Some days even water leaks in the window seal due to condensation."
The group members had various tips, tricks and advice in the comments in hopes of solving Sophie's problem, the most popular suggestion being salt, which costs less than 1 euro in some Irish supermarkets.
One person said, "Put salt in a container on the windowsill. This attracts moisture.
"I would recommend it too," wrote another.
Buying a humidifier was another popular option, but someone suggested, "Take a large plastic tub and make your own dehumidifier by adding cat litter or salt or even sugar," anything that absorbs moisture. "
Some people recommended opening the windows and turning on the heater for about an hour in the morning, which should solve the problem.
If this becomes too cold for you in the house, the windows can be opened several times a day for five minutes.
Others also told Sophie not to dry clothes indoors as this could worsen the problem.
