Georgia Power urges customers to use caution when contacting an unverified person who claims to be a Georgia Power representative. Customers should beware of misleading caller ID ads, automated calls with official tones, and in-person calls that require immediate payment over the phone to avoid disconnection.

The company will never send staff on hand to personally collect the payment or prompt a customer to a place other than one authorized payment (Authorized Pay Location, APL) to pay.
