However, anyone who plans to use vinegar at home should be aware of its acidity.

Some materials, such as granite and marble countertops, stone tiles, floorboards, and wood floors, warp or discolour when cleaned with vinegar.

You shouldn't use detergents that contain vinegar to remove egg stains or spills, as vinegar will form the clot and be more difficult to remove.

3. Remove odors from drains

When you have a bad smelling drain it can often be difficult to change without chemicals.

However, using a mixture of white vinegar and baking soda can help eliminate odors.

Sarson's Vinegar recommends pouring 125 ml of baking soda down the drain and then using a mixture of 250 ml of clear distilled malt vinegar and 250 ml of hot water.

Immediately cover the drain with a rag to keep the bubbles in for 10 minutes.

Rinse by pouring a kettle of boiling water down the drain.

4. Store cut flowers

Faded flowers can be painful, especially when shrinking rooms at home after such a long time.

To keep your flowers fresh longer, add distilled malt vinegar to the water.

Add two tablespoons of clear distilled malt vinegar and one teaspoon of sugar to a quart of water in a vase.

5. Remove wine stains

Wine stains can be some of the most difficult clothes and carpets to remove.

However, vinegar can be an easy way to remove pesky wine stains.

Simply cover the affected area with vinegar and let it sit for a few minutes.

Rinse with plenty of water and repeat the process for stains.

6. Clean the window

Window cleaning solutions can often be expensive and contain a large number of chemicals.

However, you can make your own using just water and vinegar.

Mix one part distilled vinegar with 10 parts warm water in a spray bottle.

Use a microfiber cloth when cleaning your windows for a streak-free shine.
