NO MATTER whether you live in a small apartment or a large house, you can always benefit from more organizing tips.
Well, the two incredible women behind The Home Edit, veteran organizers Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin, shared their top five tips.
SYSTEM LOST
Even if you've set up areas for your home office or hobby nook, you need to be able to physically put things away so your brain can relax at the end of the day.
"It's visual clutter, but it's also mental clutter, and more than ever we need to make sure our homes can function as our personal lives as well, and not [just] our work lives," Shearer told Apartment Therapy. .
"We need that separation and distinction. It's not just about establishing an area, it's also about making sure you can physically salvage it."
It can do anything from a storage container to a cart that can roll under your table or in your closet.
BE CAREFUL WHEN STORING
It's often easier to pack all our items away and not think twice when we close the closet doors.
Well, it turns out you need to be a lot more conscious of your storage, and that means using containers to keep yourself organized.
"If you contain it from the start, it's not as difficult to maintain as you might think. Containment is really critical and belongs in a category of its own," Shearer said.
This means you can have one container for your snacks, one for your granola and one for your condiments.

And if you live with others, you can use labels to hold everyone accountable.
NO SHELVES? NO PROBLEM
Storage space doesn't necessarily mean cupboards, boxes and bins, it can be anywhere, especially on walls and doors.
"People assume they don't have storage space, but you can always add more," Shearer said.
"If you don't have a good door to attach, you can attach [the command hooks] directly to the wall on top of the door hangers. Closet doors, closet doors..."
If you have more hanging space than storage, use it to hang bags, scarves, or anything that doesn't have a home.
Tips and tricks for cleaning
Here are some tips to help you with your next house cleaning:
SENTIMENTAL ARTICLES
When ordering, people tend to keep items that bring back memories.
However, Teplin suggested checking the object each time you find it to see if you still feel that emotional bond.
If not, it's time to give it away or throw it away.
DON'T FORGET TO EDIT
One of the most important steps that Jura The Home Edit takes in its process is the editing part.
This means you should review each item in the space you are organizing and decide whether to keep, donate, or get rid of it.
Shearer herself made sure to remodel her home as she prepared to move into a new one.
"I physically touched each item and decided whether to keep it or give it away/discard if it's real junk, which it may be," Shearer told AT.
"It's so satisfying to know that whatever you unpack, you want, use, or love, you know that it has a purpose in your home."
