4. Leaves too dry
Many use tumble dryers to dry their linens and bedding during the winter months as this can help ensure they dry completely. Tumble drying them can do more harm than good, though.
Deyan added, "If left in the dryer for too long (or even on top of the dryer to reheat) the sheets can shrink.
"To prevent uncomfortable sheets from getting in the way of a good night's sleep, dry your sheets naturally on a clothesline or clothes rack, preferably outdoors, for an even fresher smell, longer life, and better results."
If stains remain on your linens, the sun also acts as a natural bleach and can help remove unwanted stains.
