Our top 10 picks
Overall the best wiper and vacuum cleaner hybrid
why we choose it
The Ecovacs Deebot X1 Omni is the most expensive floor cleaning robot we've tested, but it's also the most advanced. Its large (but attractive) charging station consists of three main components: a fresh water tank, a dirty water tank, and a dust chamber. When cleaning, it uses two circular rotating pads to scrub your hard floors with water (or Ecovacs cleaning solution) until they shine, while automatically avoiding rugs and carpeted rooms to keep them dry. When finished, it automatically drains the dirty water, cleans the pads, dries them and refills with clean water.
This premium hybrid also features AI-assisted obstacle avoidance, a built-in voice assistant, home security camera and automatic garbage disposal . With a companion app, you can customize the number of cleaning passes (once or twice), water flow (low, medium, or high), cleaning sequence, and more.
who it is for
The Deebot X1 Omni model is best for those with deep pockets who are willing to pay more for the convenience. Because it can clean its own cleaning cloth, fill its own water tank, and empty its own trash can, the X1 Omni requires far less maintenance than other two-in-one floor cleaning robots. The long-lasting battery, powerful suction, and AI-assisted obstacle avoidance technology make it a great choice for larger homes and pets.
The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra below offers similar features and performance for a little less money, but the X1 Omni is our editors' pick for its more streamlined design, larger water tanks, hot air drying feature, and built-in virtual sound. Attendees.
Better scrubbing performance
why we choose it
The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra and Ecovacs Deebot X1 Omni are two of the most advanced floor cleaning robots on the market. Like competitor Ecovacs, this premium hybrid does it all: vacuum and mop your floors, then clean itself, so it's always ready for the next trip without you having to lift your pinky finger. Even better, the X1 Omni is around $150 cheaper.
The S7 MaxV Ultra features a unique mop-lift feature (also available on the cheaper Roborock S7+) that allows for more efficient cleaning cycles than the competition. Most carpet-sensing two-in-one robots, including the X1 Omni, automatically avoid carpets when cleaning. Roborock's VibraRise technology goes even further: if this robot detects a carpet while cleaning, it will automatically raise its cleaning plate by about 5mm. This is how you clean your hard floors and vacuum your low to medium pile carpets in one go.
who it is for
When deciding between the S7 MaxV Ultra and the X1 Omni, choose the former if your hard floor tends to collect dirt. The Roborock model uses sonic vibration technology to scrub floors 3,000 times per minute, while the X1 Omni's circular mops spin at just 180 rpm. Both robots left our test floors streak-free and shiny, but the S7 MaxV Ultra offers slightly more cleaning power, so is slightly better at deep cleaning.
Great for germaphobes
why we choose it
Although Bissell has been making upright wet and dry vacuums for years, the SpinWave Wet and Dry is their first hybrid model. It works quickly and quietly and reliably picks up pet hair and dust from hard floors and low-pile carpets. Replace the trash can with a wet bin and the robot glides across hard floors, scrubbing them with its dual rotating cleaning pads. Bissell also offers several cleaning solutions for this robot, including multi-surface pet formulas with Febreze and sanitizing formulas. Additionally, SpinWave can automatically detect and avoid wet and dry carpets and rugs when cleaning, a feature we typically only see on much more expensive models.
who it is for
If you're looking for a mid-range, high-performance hybrid that works best as a mop, the Bissell SpinWave Wet and Dry is a great option. It lacks some features available on pricier models, including home mapping capabilities, voice command support, and self-drain, but offers better cleaning performance than most other robot-in-ones in this price range due to its microfiber swivel pads and support. for disinfecting and deodorizing cleaning solutions. We recommend this model for households with pets or heavily soiled hard floors.
Better battery life
why we choose it
Before the X1 Omni came out, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo T8 AIVI was the most advanced floor cleaning robot we tested. These feature-rich hybrid vacuums and mops use AI to successfully detect and avoid many obstacles that stop many other robots. Ecovacs even claims that the robot's simultaneous suction and mopping capabilities allow it to remove up to 99.26% of bacteria when mopping floors under running water. In testing, the bot had no trouble navigating the transition strips between floor types and avoided carpets well when mopping. It also has the longest battery life of any model we've tested (170 minutes on a charge) while also doubles as a roaming home security camera that you can control from your phone.
who it is for
Ecovacs' former flagship floor cleaning robot is still a great option for those with a mix of hard floors and carpet. And because it's a few years old at the moment, you can now get it at a discount. The Deebot Ozmo T8 AIVI's exceptional battery life and obstacle avoidance skills make it a particularly appealing option for those with large homes and messy floors. If you can swing it, we recommend adding the Ozmo Pro Oscillating Cleaning Attachment (opens in a new window) (sold separately for $99.99), which vibrates up to 480 times per minute to better target stubborn stains, and a larger reservoir provides water that allows it to cover 2,000 square feet when cleaned.
Best Autonomous Mopping Robot
why we choose it
Manufactured by one of the most reputable names in the floor cleaning robot market, the iRobot Braava Jet m6 is one of the best autonomous robot mops around. When cleaning, the m6 sprays a specific area with acleaning solution (opens in a new window) (or plain water) and goes over it several times before moving on and repeating the process, picking up a lot more dirt and grime than we expected . It can automatically detect and avoid carpets and rarely gets stuck. Plus, it's easy to use, supports apps and voice control, and maps your home to clean specific rooms.
who it is for
The Braava Jet m6 is a great standalone robot mop if you mostly have hardwood, laminate or tile. With a long battery life and the ability to cover 1,000 square feet in a single session, the m6 is suitable for both apartments and larger homes. It's also a great addition if you already own an iRobot Roomba i, j or s series robot vacuum. You can link them in the app and set the mop to start running as soon as the vacuum has finished cleaning your floors.
Ideal for multiple types of flooring.
why we choose it
The Roborock S7+ is a premium hybrid mop/vacuum that offers many of the same benefits as the S7 MaxV Ultra for $450 less. It can't fill its own water tank, clean its own cleaning cloth, or act as a home security camera, but the S7+ features Roborock's VibraRise technology, allowing it to clean your hard floors and vacuum your carpet in an instant cycle. While other hybrid cleaners completely skip the carpet during cleaning, the S7+ automatically raises the mopping cloth and keeps vacuuming, allowing you to do both tasks more efficiently. The robot offers three washing levels: gentle, medium or intensive. After a high scrub run, our test floors were shiny and streak-free. It also has great suction power, a self-emptying dust bin and lots of smart features for personalized cleaning.
who it is for
The Roborock S7+ works well on both hard floors and carpets, but is better suited for homes that have both. Its long battery life and excellent obstacle avoidance skills make it a solid choice for larger homes with crowded floors. And with an impressive 2500 Pa suction power and an auto-empty bin, it's also a great choice for allergy sufferers and pet owners.
Best Hybrid Model Under $1,000
why we choose it
Hybrid two-in-one floor cleaners that can vacuum and mop are usually better at one task than another. The Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ masters both equally. The N8 Pro+ converts from a vacuum cleaner to a mop in two easy steps: just fill its water tank and place it on the mopping plate. When it comes to cleaning, the N8 Pro+ does a great job of automatically avoiding carpets and rugs. After a few passes with just water, the robot's cleaning pad was visibly dirty, and our floors looked and felt a lot cleaner when tested. The battery life is lower than the Ozmo T8 AIVI, but it has a higher suction power and comes with a self-draining base station. And while it lacks some of the conveniences of the Deebot X1 Omni, including the ability to wash and dry its cleaning cloth, the N8 Pro+ offers similar performance for a lot less money.
who it is for
The Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ excels at both mopping and vacuuming, making it a great choice for homes with multiple floor types. In testing, it had no trouble cutting tile, laminate, and carpet, or the transition strips between them. With an impressive 2600Pa suction power and the ability to empty your own bin into a hypoallergenic bag, it's also a compelling choice for allergy sufferers and pet owners.
Best Affordable Mop/Vacuum Hybrid
why we choose it
When it comes to two-in-one floor cleaning robots, they don't come much cheaper than the sub-$300 iLife V8s. It has a swappable trash can and water tank that lets you vacuum and clean. When cleaning, the V8 cleans liquids and stubborn dirt properly, but it does not clean long-dried stains. However, you should move all carpets when mopping, as the V8s will not automatically avoid them. You get around 90 minutes of battery life on one charge, and there are no issues on various types of floors, including hardwood, tile, and carpet. The V8 lacks features like app control, voice assistant support and mapping, but it makes up for it with good cleaning performance and solid navigation features at a rock-bottom price point.
who it is for
If you're looking for an affordable two-in-one floor cleaning robot that won't break the bank, the iLife V8s is a great option. This robot also comes with a physical remote control (something that's becoming increasingly rare), making it a compelling option for those who value ease of use and don't want to mess with an app or voice commands. At just 3.1 inches tall, this compact model is also an ideal choice if you have low-profile furniture. It offers far fewer benefits than more expensive models, but you can't beat the price.
Ideal for cleaning small spaces.
why we choose it
The Braava Jet 240 is an affordable option for those who need help cleaning small spaces. He sprays water on his floors and uses various pads to get rid of dirt. At 6.7 x 7.0 x 3.3 inches (HWD) and 2.7 pounds, the jet can get into tight spaces that larger robots might miss and has a top handle for easy portability between rooms. In testing, it cleaned the side of the tub and walls, around the toilet, and into every corner it could reach with ease. You can clean up to 150 square feet on a single charge in wet sweep mode and up to 200 square feet in dry sweep mode.
who it is for
The Braava Jet 240 is ideal for single rooms that need cleaning, like bathrooms and kitchens. It doesn't have the power to remove very stubborn stains, so you may need manual help from time to time. Still, it's the cheapest robot on this list and a solid buy for apartment dwellers or anyone living in a small space with a hard floor. Meanwhile, the more expensive Braava Jet m6 is a better option for cleaning larger areas.
Ideal for scrubbing walls.
why we choose it
The Samsung Jetbot Mop is an innovative cleaning tool that doubles as a floor and wall scrubber. It can help you tick off two of the most tedious cleaning tasks on your to-do list: cleaning your floors and washing your shower or bathtub. Simply fill the two reservoirs with water (and a little cleaning solution if you like), attach the cleaning pads, select a cleaning mode with the included remote control, then sit back and relax while you scrub your floors. It has a compact design that allows it to maneuver obstacles autonomously and is short enough not to get caught under furniture. It works fast and really makes your floors shine (if you use a little cleaning solution). Once your floors are clean, you can go to the bathroom, grab the lightweight robot by the handle and let its spinning pads do the brunt of washing your walls.
who it is for
If you hate mopping and also hate cleaning your shower, bathtub or any other similar surface, the Samsung Jetbot Mop could be the robotic assistant of your dreams. With two rotating pads on the bottom and a handle on top, this versatile robot can clean tile, vinyl, laminate or wood floors with little help from you. As mentioned, it works as a portable cleaning tool to wash down the walls. It doesn't offer some of the perks of more expensive competitors, like app or voice control, but it still deserves a spot on your list for its niche capabilities.
Which robot vacuum and mop is the best?
All mopping robots have a few things in common. They usually come with containers that you fill with water or cleaning solution and microfiber cloths that scrub floors and pick up dirt. They also have sensors that help them navigate around your furniture autonomously.
Robotic mops generally come in two flavors: disposable or hybrid. Disposable mops like the iRobot Braava Jet 240 and Braava 380t cannot vacuum your floors. However, some may dry sweep to clean the area before mopping.
Hybrid models can, unsurprisingly, clean and vacuum. They usually have microfiber cloth attachments that will clean or scrub the floor as the robot walks through your home. Some have a replaceable dust bin and water tank and don't need to be soaked before cleaning.
These hybrid models are generally more expensive, but they're also more likely to have features like app control from your phone, voice control through Amazon Alexa and the Google Assistant, and even interactivity with other smart home devices .
We note which models are hybrids in our test reports and test their functionality accordingly. To easily see which models we have selected here, check out the table at the bottom of this page.

How we test mopping robots
We tested robot mops in our real homes, considering the following criteria: battery life; Navigation; easy installation and use; and performance
The point of cleaning robots is to let them do the work for you. Having to intervene defeats the purpose. For this purpose, we check whether the robot can handle different floor coverings such as tiles and wood with equal ease. We're also checking if it dispenses with textiles like carpets and rugs, or comes with peripherals like virtual walls (or app control) to make this easier.
Battery life is also important; the size of your home will determine what is sufficient. The longer it is charged, the better the robot card for larger households. We find 60 minutes of battery life to be sufficient for smaller homes and apartments, although ideally we'd like to see results in the 90-minute range. To test battery life, we fully charged the robot before running a cleaning cycle. We then let it clean until the battery is completely discharged.

Configuration is another factor we consider. Most involve charging your robot and filling water tanks. Again, you want these processes to be as simple as possible. And although not all mopping robots work with an app, hybrid models often do. In these cases, we check how intuitive the application is and what advantages it brings.
Last but not least, we check the cleaning quality of a floor mopping robot under real conditions. We consider things like whether or not you use a cleaning solution or just water. We also see how well it tackles dry and wet stains on a variety of surfaces. We're careful not to scratch tiles or wood, and at the end of each cleaning session we check the microfiber cloth to see how dirty it is.
Which mopping robot cleans better?
As with robot vacuums, robot mops do a good job of keeping your floors clean, but they're not a complete replacement for a little effort. They are great for fresh grooming and spills. However, deep stains will likely still require some hand washing.
Mopping robots continue to be a growing category. Check out our reviews for a detailed analysis of each model listed here, and check back soon as we're always reviewing new ones.
