How to fix an iPhone or iPad charger
If your phone does not appear to be charging properly, you must first make sure that the problem does not occur at the outlet. Plug other devices into the power outlet and check that they are turned on.
If the plug works, now determine if the charger is a problem or if it is the iPhone / iPad. Borrow the charger from a friend or co-worker and see if your phone registers and starts as fast as before. If so, the phone is fine and that's a good thing.
If this is not the case, check the cable and wrap the damaged area in case of visible wear with insulating tape. This can realign the internal wiring and solve the problem. If you see a frayed cable in the future, tape an electrical tape before it breaks and you can anticipate a problem.

Then try cleaning the connection point in the charger of your iPhone or iPad. Follow the steps in our article " To clean the charging port of your iPhone when it is not charging. "
Still no luck? If you can weld, you can cut, strip and reconnect the cable.
When you try to fix the power supply, you end up spending the same amount of money on spare parts and tools as on a new charger. Do not worry, unless you're an amateur doing repairs for fun or pride.
If nothing works, you should buy a new charger.
The good news is that Apple is selling a new Lightning to USB cable for only $ 19 . Lightning to USB Cable C is a lot more expensive at $ 35 . You also need a power adapter unless you plan to use your computer for all of your phone's charging needs.
