Clean the house, prepare your next trip: tips to eliminate the sadness after the holiday

Is there anything worse than the sound of your alarm after a week's absence? No

According to a survey on the KAYAK travel website, almost half of Canadians suffering from sadness after the holidays seem to believe so.

The study on Tuesday found that 48% of Canadians were afraid to "come true" on vacation.

"There is a big contrast between the demands and responsibilities of everyday life and holidays, so many people, including myself, may be scared of ending an adventure," said Kulsum Khan, a registered social worker. and therapist.

Although his return home is always a bit disappointing (hoping it's tropical), KAYAK believes some of this stress can be mitigated.

The survey found that 22% of Canadians already clean up before going on vacation, but for those who do not, KAYAK recommends launching.

If you have extra days off, KAYAK recommends that you try to return a few days in advance to have time for decompression, as 31% of travelers.

These extra days are very useful for 27% of people who do not plan their first days, as well as for 20% of those who sleep more than usual.

KAYAK discovered that 25% of Canadians were afraid of returning to an empty refrigerator and recommended a grocery delivery service or a packed lunch service to avoid buying in the first few days.

41% told KAYAK that washing was the worst job after the holidays, but it could also be made easier if you book a laundry service to get your clothes and return them clean and tidy.

None of these aids? Nothing is as sad as before the holidays: According to KAYAK, 12% of people are looking for new destinations as soon as they get home.
