Cleaning thread for 3D printers: what you need to know

To use a cleaning filament, you must first decide if this is really the best approach for your helmet. The filament cleaning works only with partial sheaths , because the filament can still be extruded. With full hooves, you may need to fire some hot or cold shots or break the block with a needle before continuing.

If you want to continue, remove the Bowden cable that can be connected to the printhead of your printer. Warm the nozzle to the last pressure temperature and manually transfer the cleaning filament ( in Bowden systems ) or configure the printer for automatic extrusion ( in direct drive systems ). You should see the old filament and cleaning filament coming out of the nozzle (see photo above). Extrude until the cleaning filament no longer has black spots or residue.

This is! When done, simply unload the cleaning filament and continue printing with the usual filament.
