First, you need something sour like lemon, apple cider vinegar, or white vinegar. You can usually find something among your staple foods.
Then collect the following items: a microwave-safe jar or jar, rubber gloves, a sponge or pan cleaner (do not use steel wool for soft or scratchy items), a toothpick and your acid source.
