There is an old adage known as the Parkinson's Law that adapts to the time available.
The same applies to the data stored in your phone. Once upon a time we had 8 GB or 16 GB of storage on our devices and we did it. Now the high-end iPhone comes with half a terabyte of memory.
Even if you haven't finished it yet, there are several ways you can make Marie Kondo your phone and make it a bit less stressful in 2020.
Let's start with the basics.
Remove apps you don't use
How many applications do you really use every day? Generally, the average user only interacts with about 10 people a day. When you are not using the applications, they only take up space on your phone.

Apple has a very easy way to automatically clean up unused applications with a hidden option in the settings. To activate it, go to Settings, press iTunes and App Store and finally press "Download unused applications".
This saves the data and documents associated with the applications, but the programs themselves are removed. Alternatively, you can manually remove old applications by long-clicking the icon and then clicking the "x" in the corner.
Automatically delete old messages
If you've collected messages that are several years old, some of which contain video, image, or audio files as attachments, you may see a lot of clutter.
These can be sent quickly with an option to automatically delete messages that are longer than 30 days or more than a year. To activate it, press Settings, go to Messages and look for the "Keep Messages" option where you can choose a year or 30 days to delete.
Remove duplicate images
Apple doesn't have a custom option to delete duplicate photos. However, there are third-party options that you can use to prevent you from manually returning through your photo stream to delete them one by one.
One of the top rated applications for this task is the Mac Photos Duplicate Cleaner application, which extracts dual-use photos and removes them from your iPhone when you use the iCloud Photo Library.
You can also optimize the photo storage stored on your phone. Basically, your iPhone can save them in a smaller file size, which means you save them in a lower resolution.

The higher resolution image is saved to iCloud and every time you see the image it is downloaded from the cloud. All you have to do is go to your settings and scroll to the photo application. Then the option "Optimize iPhone storage" is displayed in the menu.
Change the WhatsApp settings
When you download WhatsApp, the application has a default configuration for storing all the media sent in a chat in your storage. Then you have the picture or video in the WhatsApp memory and back in the memory of your phone.
All you have to do to stop this is to go to WhatsApp and click on the Settings and then on the Chats and then choose not to automatically save the media in the filmstrip.
Also check how much storage space a cat costs by clicking on the cat name at the top of the conversation. There you can delete the chat media to free up space on your phone.
