Imagine all the surfaces your hands come into contact with when you're not at home: your car door and steering wheel, post office counter, food treadmill. Now imagine that you pick up germs from all these surfaces and distribute them all over the house, from the kitchen and bathroom to your bedroom pillow. Do the following if you don't wash your hands as soon as you walk through the front door. When you get home, wash your hands well with warm, soapy water for at least 20 seconds, and of course always wash after using the bathroom, boiling, cleaning the kitchen, or handling potentially germ-laden items such as chicken raw materials.
