A mother revealed the unlikely product she used to clean the permanent marker on her carpet: vodka.

Sarah Prangle revealed that her daughter had packed black pens and caused chaos across the floor.

She shared snapshots of her beige carpet, which now had a black stripe pattern.

Sarah spoke to the Facebook group Cleaning Hacks, Tips and Recommendations to ask other cleaning fans what black spots would change.

Sharing a snapshot of her daughter at the scene, she said, "A long shot, but does anyone know how I can try to remove the permanent marker from the carpet?"

Dozens of people commented on the post and suggested everything from nail polish remover to toothpaste.
