They said the district has cleaned up many times to stop the spread of COVID-19, but their concerns have centered on the chemicals used.
Drivers say they produce a strong odor that leaves some drivers with a headache.

"It's a strong and strong chemical," said Serena, a bus driver. "If you can smell it, it burns."
The exact names of the chemicals were not immediately published.

ABC13 asked Katy ISD for an explanation of the driver's concern.
The district made the following statement:
"Protecting the health and safety of the 10,000 employees and 84,000 students at Katy ISD is our top priority as we continue to face the challenges of COVID-19. Katy ISD's extended safety protocols include the use of government-approved disinfectant products commonly used in hospitals and schools. These products are significantly diluted before use. Security protocols are also continuously evaluated to keep up with national, local, TEA and UIL guidelines and to reduce the spread of COVID-19. We have heard of issues raised in relation to cleaning practices and will continue to ensure that our employees are informed and comfortable while they are performing their duties and will make adjustments or adjustments as necessary. ""
