Wilmington Mayor Mike Purzycki and Wilmington CFO J. Brett Taylor thanked the Government Finance Officials Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) today for granting Wilmington Certification of Excellence in Financial Reporting.
The GFOA award recognized the quality of the city's comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) for the 2019 financial year, which provides a comprehensive overview of the financial information for an entire financial year. The CAFR report is available here for your consultation with local residents, elected officials and other interested parties. Wilmington has a long history of providing accurate and useful financial information as this is the 31st straight GFOA award in the city.
The GFOA is considered one of the best sources of financial reporting advice for state and local governments in North America. The company employs nearly 19,000 finance professionals in the United States and Canada.
