One of the best ways to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the flu, and other infectious diseases is to wash your hands. It can be easy for children (and adults) to forget what it takes to wash properly.
Here are some tips for improving your hand washing skills:
Rub your hands with soap and warm water for 20 seconds. Cold water does not kill germs and oils as well as hot water . The oils on your hand can contain bacteria and germs.
Sing the song "ABC" twice to make sure you rub enough. The scrubbing motion kills germs.
Remember to wash your thumbs between your fingers, fingertips, the back of your hand, and even around your wrists.
There are times when it is especially important to wash your hands:
- Before the meal
- After sneezing or blowing your nose
- After playing or in a public place
- After using the bathroom
- Other ways to stop the spread of COVID-19 and infectious diseases :
- Avoid contact with other people and practice social distancing
- Cover your mouth and nose when you sneeze or cough into your elbow.
- Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth
- Clean and disinfect surfaces or objects
