Do you have a toothache that makes you feel like you are in your mouth?
Although some dentists are closed or difficult to see, you need to take good care of your teeth at home.
I worked with the dentists Susie Lloyd and Dr. Karim Abdel-Khalek from Bupa Dental Care asked for her best advice. . .
Brush wisely: Susie says, "Using an electric toothbrush is most effective. The rotating heads help you clean more areas of your teeth and reach sensitive areas more easily.
My advice: get the Tesco Oral-B Vitality electric toothbrush for £ 20 compared to £ 40 when using your Clubcard. It comes with two heads.
CHANGE YOURSELF: Susie says, "Change your toothbrush every three months. Over time, the bristles can widen and the frayed hair chafe the gums. With rechargeable toothbrushes, the heads have to be changed that often. ""
My advice: Instead of paying £ 30 for an 8 pack of Oral-B Precision Clean toothbrush heads from Boots, buy a pack of 16 Milos for Braun for £ 6.99 on Amazon. They are compatible with Oral-B toothbrushes and I can't tell a difference.
SENSITIVE TOPIC: Susie says, "If you have a sensitive tooth, reduce the amount of sugar in your diet and foods that are very hot or cold. Continue flossing as thoroughly as you can and rub sensitive toothpaste such as Sensodyne or Colgate Pro-Relief directly on the affected area and leave it on overnight. ""
My advice: Sensodyne Daily Care Mint Original Toothpaste (75 ml) is available from Superdrug for £ 2 instead of £ 3.49.
Pearly white: If you've increased your coffee consumption while in lockdown mode, your teeth may not be as white. Dr. Karim says: "Brushing your teeth removes stains from the surface. However, it is also important to use dental floss or interdental brushes to remove plaque from between your teeth. Using a fluoride mouthwash will also help. ""
My advice: A bottle of Colgate FluoriGard alcohol free mouthwash (400ml) is £ 4.50 at Boots, but I like to use Sainsburys Coolmint Fluoride mouthwash (500ml) and it's only 80p.
