Although Jane relies on this trick, it's important to note that not all cats respond to vinegar, as some cats aren't as bothered by the strong smell.

It is also said that these animals do not respond to all types of vinegar in the same way.

For example, a cat might be interested in sniffing apple cider vinegar, but distilled white vinegar might be too intense for her nose.

Instead of apple cider vinegar, opt for white vinegar - cats don't like that smell anymore.

lion droppings

"Leave the poor foxes alone, we've destroyed most of their habitat and now they're forced to raid our villages, like cats, I hear lion poop pellets are good," wrote Julie Harris.

Lesley Logan supported the idea: " Tiger or lion poop on Amazon works."

According to pestsbanned.com, "Lion droppings can keep cats away, but it has never been shown to be 100% effective.

"Like most cat repellents, lion poo is the one to try to see if it works for the cat you're trying to deter."

citrus peels

There are a number of smells that cats dislike, and tart citrus is one of them.

So whenever you peel an orange or brew yourself a cup of honey lemon tea, save the peels and scatter them around your garden.
