Scale builds up in the toilet bowl over time and can sometimes be difficult to remove. Scale forms in toilet bowls when hard water evaporates and calcium and magnesium combine, leaving deposits. Luckily, there are easy ways to get rid of them, and fans of the influential Ms. Hinch have shared their top picks on social media.
In a Facebook group, Vicki Fincher, an avid cleaner, recommended Harpic, a product available in major supermarkets.
"It's great, but I also use strong bleach and baking soda for a few hours or overnight. It's a treat!"
Katherine Stanley agreed that Black Harpic is what works for her. "Also denture tablets and a pumice scrub," he recommended.
"If it's white, wipe it off with a spray bottle of white vinegar. This will also clean the toilet seat and exterior," the woman advised.

Alison Kitts added that Harpic "works like a charm". The woman, who works as a housekeeper, explained that she recently used it at a client's home where "the floor of the toilet was really bad," but she let it sit and then used the toilet brush and "everything chipped."
Another enthusiastic cleaner, Yvonne Gray, gave Harpic a "very good" recommendation. "Bleach doesn't remove limescale, it will only lighten it," he explained.
Rebecca Sylvester said her husband drained the water, then used Black Harpic overnight, rinsed the next morning and left. "I didn't even have to scrub! It's been white ever since!" she explained.
Harpic's experts said limescale can easily build up on the rim of the toilet. "Although you might only see a few traces of residue, you could be leaving a lot less water in the bowl with each flush."

"A solution in a plastic bottle diluted according to the instructions of the bleach itself.
"Disinfect kitchen towels (bleach sponges, use disinfectant on them) and kill bacteria, including coronavirus. Wash sinks/faucets with household soap first," she recommended.
Andrea O'Neill also suggested suggesting cheap thick bleach, but advised "allowing as much time as possible" for it to work.
