To help, drench interiors expert Polly Shearer shared her top tips for keeping nasty kitchen odors at bay.
Use plug-in air fresheners and scented candles
Polly said: "There are a number of things you can do on Christmas Day to ensure cooking smells don't linger in your kitchen as badly as they do in the rest of your home.
"Plug-in air fresheners are a great way to keep the air circulating in the kitchen without being overwhelming, and they're inexpensive too.

"We've found that the most popular Christmas cleaning scent this year is pine, so I'd definitely recommend pocketing one on Christmas Eve to let the scent waft through the kitchen and leaving it there all Christmas Day."
Boil cinnamon
If you want to lock in holiday smells throughout the day and mask the smell of cooking, you can cook cinnamon sticks to make an inexpensive natural air freshener.
Polly said: "Cinnamon is the second most popular air freshener scent we've spotted this year. So making your own scent saves you money over using something you may already have in your closet.
"Boil some cinnamon sticks for about five minutes, then let them cool. You can leave it on your kitchen counter all day to combat food odors.

Store food in airtight containers
The culprit for a smelly kitchen could be that the food in your fridge or pantry isn't stored properly.
Be sure to store strong-smelling foods, such as Brussels sprouts or meat, in a tightly sealed container this Christmas to prevent their odors from entering the kitchen excessively.
