Tips for the Earth Day EcoWatch Team

At EcoWatch every day is Earth Day. Not only do we bring news about the environment, our goal is to improve the world through our own actions. From water conservation to waste reduction, here are some tips and tricks from our team to live consciously and sustainably.

Lorraine Chow, journalist

Favorite product: Castilla Dr. Bronner soap

It's the environment, it lasts for a month and can be used as a soap, shampoo, cleanser and even mouthwash (but I would not recommend it).

Essential tool: mixer

He paid himself in homemade smoothies, soups, sauces and sauces. It also means that I do not have to buy these individual foods in unnecessary plastic containers. The waste mixture also helps your compost!

Earth Day Council: Pass the straw

If you feel weird when you say "no straw" in restaurants, tell the waiter that you are allergic to plastic.

Olivia Rosane, a journalist

Preferred Product: Seventh Generation Products

Your cleansing and personal care products are an excellent way to keep yourself and your home in a safe and healthy way for your health and the planet. In addition, the packaging is made from recycled materials and is designed for recycling.

Essential tool: my portable thermos

I bring it with me when I order coffee or tea. Therefore, I do not have to use paper cups that are not recyclable , and some coffees even offer me a discount to have my own container.

Earth Day: Participate

In 2012, researcher Brad Werner led a computer model and discovered that our best means of combating climate change was to form a massive social movement to challenge it. If you are worried about the environment, contact other people in your community and talk about what you can do to make a difference.

Favorite product : Foldable water bottle

Whether you're traveling or shopping, a reusable, lightweight and compact water bottle keeps you hydrated and prevents you from buying mineral water.

Essential tool: backpack

It's great to bring your purchases home from business, and you do not have to use plastic bags. If you have a long list of races, try a suitcase with wheels.

Earth Day: Do not waste water

Turn off the water while you brush your teeth. You can save eight gallons of water per day!

Chris McDermott, news editor

Favorite product: Patagonian clothing

Patagonia produces a wide range of inspired products and its environmental policy is first class. They only use organic cotton in their clothes and offer replacement, recycling and repairs at all times.

Essential tool: RIVER mobile power plant and solar generator

This powerful spirit is always ready, regardless of storms and travel, as long as you can touch the sun.

Earth Day Tip : Enjoy something vegan

There is no nutritional replacement for fresh and unprocessed foods, but the science of nutrition has revolutionized the taste and texture of vegan substitutes. Out of sheer delight, this party with tofu from Miyoko Cooking, Tofurky Italian Sausage (30 grams of protein per serving!) And frozen dessert truffles in non-milk chocolate SoDelicious Cashew Milk.

Favorite product: Living Libations Everyone loves the sun

In contrast to sun creams, this skin product works with the sun and absorbs nutrients from the sun's rays while protecting the skin.

"Instead of being afraid of the sun, harmonize with it," says Living Libations. Love!

Essential tool: my bike

Not only is it not possible to fly in order to get around the city, it also gives my body the activity it needs.

Earth Day Advice: Start small

Your "little" action is not small at all.

Jordan Simmons, social media coordinator

Favorite product : Durable clothing from the Amanda Sage collection

Designer Lana Gurevich uses motifs from Amanda's transformative paintings to create a clothing line that respects ethics and the environment. In addition to supporting local businesses and an environmentally friendly printing method, the fabrics are made from 100% recycled plastic bottles.

Essential tool: my brush and mineral paints

I found all natural and biodegradable mineral paints at a local farmers market in the Sacred Valley of Peru. I preferred to work with acrylic paints until I discovered its strong carbon footprint and its harmful substances.

Earth Day Council: Honor Mother Earth

Collect some of Mother Nature's gifts, such as stones, beautiful dried leaves and feathers. Place it in a special place in your home to create a unique "altar" that will remind you to honor your mother every day. Find peace and blessings by loving our home, the earth.
