According to police, four teenagers between the ages of 15 and 16 were responsible for the wanton destruction of the property in the Camp Skinner locker room on the weekend of March 24.

The vandalism was discovered on Sunday, March 25, and the police were called. According to Shawn Kiphart, President of Friends of Skinner Field, the locker room has large steel doors that can not be reached, so the suspect has opened a small window about seven feet above the ground. Nothing seemed to be stolen, but the vandals shattered and destroyed toilets, urinals, 11 new first aid boxes, shower heads, football teams, and more. Two of the bathrooms were new. They also burned a flag in the sink.

Cedar Springs Youth Football used the costumes and the damage photos were posted on their site. According to Kiphart, the community's proposals began to come. On Wednesday, March 28, the police interviewed the suspects.

"This shows that the community will not tolerate this type of behavior," Kiphart said. "It was really the community that caught her." It was also free for the County Sheriff Department. "We are very pleased with the police service, the speed with which they did it, the number of participants and the speed with which they solved it, they did a good job," he said.

The case has been referred to the Kent County Procuratorate for review.

The selling position was devastated earlier this week. In the incident, the vandals dropped detergent on the floor, put paper in it, and tried to burn it. The floor needs to be replaced. The police have not completed this case yet.

Kiphart said that they have received community support to help clean, repair and repair the damage. A gofundme page at https://www.gofundme.com/skinner-field-fund brought in just over $ 2,300, and several community members who are skilled workers (like installers) volunteered to solve the problem , Problem things like urinals, and give your time. The Facebook group Cedar Strong has also turned to them to organize a cleaning day for the wardrobe and the stall. "We have not started cleaning and updating yet because we were unable to enter the buildings during the investigation," Kiphart said. "We've just entered the locker room this week and still can not get into the sell position, so a clean-up date is not yet known." He hopes they can start one soon.

Although he is glad that the suspects were identified in the cloakroom incident, it is a kind of bitter and sweet victory.

"I am very happy that the suspects were caught, but sad that they seem to have felt no reason for what they did and because they seemed to be local," said Kiphart. "Although they should be punished, I also hope they get the help they need."
