The windows in our houses are constantly exposed to external influences such as rain, sunlight, dust and other pollutants outdoors. Therefore, it is important to clean every component of the window at least once a month to remove dust, dirt or even spider webs and keep them spotless. This is how you can do it.
Windowsill
Hot soapy water should be used to clean the windowsill. Remove dirt from the corners by rubbing with a toothbrush and cleaning with a cotton swab. To completely clean the windowsill, use a mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water, followed by a dry washcloth.
Slider for sliding windows
Sprinkle the cooking power on the glassy areas of the slopes, especially in the corners, pour white vinegar over them and let them steep for at least 10 minutes. Wipe off the dirt with a toothbrush, wipe with a damp cloth and pat dry.
Panes of glass
Clean the windows with warm soapy water or a prepared solution by mixing a cup of isopropyl alcohol, a cup of water, and a tablespoon of vinegar. Always wipe the top and bottom windows first when the cleaning solution drips. Cotton swabs should be used to clean the glass corners. Use a long brush to access and clean the outside of the windows.
UPVC window frames
UPVC window frames are smooth, non-porous and easy to clean. Use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust that has accumulated on the inside and outside of the window. Soak a soft cloth in warm, soapy water to clean the window frame, and then dry it.
Tip: Do not use abrasive materials such as scouring pads, iron wool and strong chemicals such as methylated spirits to clean PVC window frames.
Wooden window frames
Remove dirt, dust and dirt from wooden windows. Dip a sponge in soapy water to clean the wooden frame and use a toothbrush to clean its corners and crevices. To remove mold or mildew from the wood, mix four parts of water with one part of vinegar and let the mold stains soak for a few minutes. Wipe with a damp cloth and pat dry.
Aluminum window frame
Dip a microfiber cloth in warm, soapy water to remove dirt and grime from the surface of the powder-coated aluminum window frames. Do not use strong chemical cleaning agents as these can damage the aluminum powder coating. Older aluminum windows can be cleaned with a solution of equal parts of vinegar and water. Clean the aluminum frame until it is perfectly clean.
Window grille
Removable or fixed screens tend to collect a lot of dust and pollen. Remove the dust from the window pores with a brush with soft bristles and rinse with warm soapy water. This should be followed by a dry washcloth.
Window bars
Remove the dust from the window grille and clean it with a mixture of water and vinegar. Do not use iron wool to clean the grids, as this can cause scratches or remove the paint.
