Many people rely on travel and vacation to relax and take care of their mental health, which is particularly important now during the pandemic. However, summer travel will be challenging vacationers this year to protect themselves from COVID-19, explains Lisa M. Lee, Virginia Tech's public health expert.
Lee quote
"Traveling this summer is a challenge. However, basic preventive measures are not that different. Keep at least 6 feet, more when exercising, away from others, use face coverings in public spaces, do not touch your face, and wash your hands frequently.
"Avoid vacationing in crowded spaces, use your own vehicle for transportation to avoid close contact with other travelers. When you stay in a hotel, be sure to ask customers about their customers' cleaning and disinfection process" "
"If you plan to go on vacation with others outside of your home, you should quarantine for two to four weeks before vacation so that not all members of your group are contagious on vacation. Make sure you are. " only in close contact and take the other preventive measures mentioned above. "
"When you go on vacation with children, consider the challenges of making sure they keep a safe physical distance, wear a mask, don't touch your face, and wash your hands often."
"If traveling this summer gives the impression that it is increasing your stress rather than reducing it, you should create a fun and unusual vacation at home."
