According to experts from sofa and carpet specialist SCS, homeowners can remove dirt by changing the way they are cleaned.
They said: "To clean your windows, remove the dirt and then apply a lot of window cleaner, preferably one that sticks to the glass and doesn't drip.
"Clean windows with absorbent microfiber cloths or squeegees, as they leave no traces.
"Make sure your tools are clean so that dirt doesn't spread."

For those who have shutters, experts have also given the best tips to keep them dirt-free.
They said, "First, use a microfiber cloth or feather duster to dry-clean the blinds. Work from the top down so the dust falls off as you walk.
"For plastic blinds, a slightly damp cloth can be used to remove the most difficult stains, while for wood types, a light cleaning product such as a diluted cleaning agent can be effective.
"Alternatively, some blinds can go into a washing machine, but always check the label and put it in a zippered bag if you do."
Carpet cleaning
Carpets are also something to look out for in the house.
Although dirt isn't always obvious, homeowners should clean it regularly to keep it cool.
"Bedroom carpets can be ten times dirtier than a toilet seat," added the experts, "so cleaning them regularly is very important.
"Vacuum your carpets well at least once a week and use natural cleaning sprays for a quick refresh."
When it came to carpet stains, experts said that quick action would give the best results.
They said, "For stains, pretreat them with a stain remover as soon as possible and let them dry completely before using a carpet cleaner."
