If you've stayed in an Airbnb, you know the basic list of things to do when staying in someone else's place: lock the door, turn off the lights, and take out the trash.
Many would regard these duties as a mere courtesy; However, some hosts seem to be taking it to another level.
From doing laundry to mowing the lawn, netizens scoff at Airbnb listings with long to-do lists for their guests, plus cleaning costs.
"No, because I thought you were lying when you said Airbnb hosts send you tasks," wrote one TikTok user, who posted a video with a long to-do list that included, among other things, "organize the closet the way you found it" and "throw everything away". ". Food in the fridge and freezer.

In one video, TikTok user BigBangMike pokes fun at Airbnb, saying, "Let me understand. Airbnb has to-do lists, quiet times, curfews, and they regulate who gets to stay. About the property and how much. Brother, you pay money to stay at your mother's house.

Daily Hive Urbanized contacted Airbnb, and while the spokesperson didn't elaborate on the to-do list, he said that while hosts choose their own cleaning fees, they offer advice on how to keep prices reasonable, or even charge no cleaning fees at all . .
"To that end, 45% of active Airbnb listings globally do not charge any cleaning fees," they said. "On average, for listings that charge a cleaning fee, the fee is less than 10% of the total cost of the reservation."
Someone recently pointed to a noticeable drop in bookings, with one user suggesting abandoning housework and simply charging a cleaning fee, with customers not expecting to clean up after themselves.
Air Bnb owners just need to add a cleaning fee to the cost. Don't ask anyone to clean up after you, but of course if there's a mess or excessive mess, charge for it. I don't understand all this monotony and nonsense. Hire a manager to manage your property.

One Twitter user offered people a simple solution: stay in a hotel.
It seems many of you have had very bad experiences with Airbnb. I'll let you in on a little secret: the hotels are fantastic. clean towels on request. Your bed is made for you every day. no texting a guy vaguely threatening you and assigning you tasks.

I've never stayed in an Air Bnb BC, although people say they've never been a cheaper option, even before I went crazy with the prices and cleanliness.
